ICC
The International Certificate of Competence is required by many European countries for certain categories of pleasure boat. It is also useful in countries where compulsory certificates are required of nationals simply because officials expect to see such a certificate. RYA publications Foreign Cruising Volumes 1 and 2 (code C1 and C2) give details of certification required for all European countries.
PRE-FLOTILLA TRAINING
The content of PRE-FLOTILLA TRAINING at Mylor Yacht Cruising varies depending on how much experience (if any) you already have. We can run these courses either over a single day on a one-to-one basis, or, over a weekend with others on the course. The primary aim of this type of training is to build confidence prior to your sailing holiday by covering some practical basics which might typically include:
How to hoist and drop sails
How to reef (reduce the size of your sails)
Basic points of sail (how to sail)
Basic Mediterranean style mooring (stern to - which differs from UK mooring)
A day (0900 - 1700) of one-to-one tuition is available for individuals or couples at a cost of £350 (less 15% for Yachtsun clients) for the day. Our weekend courses start on a Friday at 1800 hrs and finish on Sunday 1600 hrs. This includes accommodation aboard, food, fuel, mooring fees and loan of wet weather clothing if required.
